Variable Transformers, generically referred to as "Variacs", are widely used when adjustable voltages are required for quality control testing, electronic equipment burn-in, life-tests, low voltage performance evaluation, D.C. rectifier/regulator analysis or other industrial and engineering applications.

Although generally used for 50 or 60 Hz applications, many situations arise where dual-usage to 400 Hz and beyond is required from the standard 50/60 Hz variable transformer. Information provided in the tables below will assist in determining suitability of a particular model for higher frequency applications

Bench Top units, employing a AC power line cord and electrical outlet, can be conveniently moved within the engineering laboratory or equipment service area to provide adjustable voltage.

Bench Top models are normally shipped with Plug / Socket configuration as shown in the Tables.  Should special socket configurations or switched Input / Output be required CONTACT us for feasibility evaluation and quote

Panel mount units are often incorporated into test equipment or permanent installation
