Comarco calls back laptop power adapters

Comarco Inc. has called back one-half a million laptop power adapters caused by a potential burn down hazard for consumers.

The America Consumer merchandise Safety committee and the Lake Forest, Calif.-based company released an associated news on Friday calling back 507,000 units of the Targus Universal Power Adapters for laptops.

Comarco said defective electrifying may cause the connector to heat and run the plastic round them, which might burn consumers. Customer should stop uising the called back units immediately and contact the company for a free replenishment.

The company told it has received 518 incidents of the connector taps heating up. It said fifty-three from them led the plastic shells fading, and eight consumers have described a fingertip or hand burning. The company said that they has not found any reports of wounds asking for medical attending.

The call back affects models with the coming SKU numbers: APA23US-02, APA23US-03, APA23US-04, APA63US-03, APA63US-04, APM62US-03 and APM62US-04. They distributed at WalMart.
